CLE Photo Fest Features a Unique Showcase of the Mayors of Cuyahoga County

CLEVELAND, OH — Cleveland Photo Fest is celebrating its 5th annual premier event, a photographic images exhibition. The founders of the initiative, Herb Ascherman, Jim Szudy and Laura D’Alessandro have put together a presentation that is unparalleled and innovative and deserves a standing ovation in and of itself.

This year’s CLE Photo Fest includes not one but at least seven showcases. If you are a cat lover, then CATography, spearheaded by local photographic legend and longtime music photographer, Anastasia Pantsios, is for you with cats of all sorts showing up in unique images by numerous local photographers. The Women’s Self Portrait showcase highlights some of the most unusual selfies you’ll ever see captured by numerous local female photographers. You will find a collection by Arlene Pachasa, “Pretty Intimate-Film and Fashion”, including behind the scenes captures of Karl Lagerfeld and more. Two other photographers take center stage with their own collections of Projection Photography by Daniel Hertel-Cournyer and Benjamin Colon: “Ataraxia” collection of portraits. The sixth support showcase is a mini appreciation exhibit of works by the volunteer staff. But the star of the show and the featured exhibit is “The Mayors, Managers and Trustees: A Portrait of Cuyahoga County Officials” collection which is presented in partnership with The Rotary Club of Cleveland. The exhibit is a collection of creative portraits in black and white photographed by 25 Northeast Ohio photographers and printed by NEO Imagery. The images are taken from a different perspective than the leader's public personas and bring you into snapshots of the personalities of them as individuals all seen through the lenses of area photographers. The innovative exhibit showcases 57 Mayor’s, 6 Trustees and 2 Officers for an unprecedented total of 65 participants with every municipality in Cuyahoga County represented. Cleveland Photo Fest credits Margaret Konecky with the tenacity to take on the overwhelming task of coordinating over 60 photo shoots with multiple subjects AND photographers. With persistence and commitment, Margaret was able to land 100% participation from our local leadership. Each participating Mayor, Trustee and Officer will receive their presented photograph after the show and 8” x 10” copies of the entire show will be given to The Western Reserve Historical Society’s Cleveland History Center to record and document images of our Cuyahoga County leadership in 2024. The exhibit’s opening night is September 6, 2024, at 12:00PM with live entertainment starting at 7:00PM. The show is installed at The Bostwick Design Art Initiative at 2731 Prospect Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44115 and admission is free. The show will remain up until September 29, 2024.
