Clevelanders Dive into the Occult at Oktober’s, Lakewood’s One-Stop Metaphysical Shop
Updated: Sep 30
LAKEWOOD — Oktober’s, a metaphysical shop located at 12611 Madison Ave. in Lakewood, Ohio, has become a key destination for those interested in witchcraft, the occult, and spiritual practices. Owned by Jessica Oktober, the shop offers a wide range of unique products, events, and educational opportunities, making it a hub for the local metaphysical community.
In a recent interview on Cleveland 13's "Hit the Town with Nikkie Brown," Jessica Oktober showcased some of the shop’s most popular offerings, starting with the shop’s centerpiece display, known as "Crystal Island." The table is filled with crystals in various sizes, shapes, and colors. In addition to crystals, Oktober’s carries an array of custom-made items, including teas, bones, pins, handcrafted soaps, and a wide selection of herbs and oils made in-store. Jessica also mentioned their custom candle blends, which are crafted for different occult purposes.
One unique feature of Oktober’s is its interactive approach to products like tarot cards. “We keep the tarot decks open so you can touch them,” said Jessica. “I do not feel that it is right that you buy something and then you get home and you're like...I hate this." This hands-on shopping experience allows customers to connect more closely with the tools they are purchasing.
In addition to selling metaphysical products, Oktober’s offers a variety of classes and events to engage the community. The shop hosts tarot classes, goddess classes, and seasonal offerings like their October workshops focused on cemetery gods. They also provide private event services, including tarot readings for parties, such as bachelorette and birthday celebrations. For those seeking resources to dive deeper into the occult, Oktober’s stocks books covering the various spiritual topics represented in the store.
Oktober’s also has a dedicated tarot parlor where readings are available seven days a week. Larger events are a staple of the shop’s calendar, with an upcoming psychic fair on November 1, where all of the store's readers will be available starting at 1 p.m. Oktober’s regularly invites authors for book signings; occult herbalist Coby Michael is scheduled to appear on October 5, and Amy Blackthorn, a certified aromatherapist who integrates traditional witchcraft with horticulture, will be featured on Halloween.
Jessica also spoke with Nikkie about the shop’s year-round appeal. While the store is especially active during the Halloween season, Jessica emphasized that Oktober’s offers a space for learning and spiritual practice throughout the year. The store has a strong presence on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, where they announce upcoming events and showcase their product offerings.
Oktober’s is open every day of the week, with operating hours from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Sundays. For more information, or to book events and services, customers can visit the shop’s website or reach out to Jessica directly through a dedicated texting line.
