Free Events All Summer Long in Downtown Cleveland

CLEVELAND – Downtown Cleveland, Inc. is turning up the heat with a calendar full of free summer events. This initiative includes a variety of activities, from food trucks to music concerts, athletic events, and holiday celebrations.

“We're passionate about creating unique experiences that bring our city and its culture to life,” said Michael Deemer, President and CEO of Downtown Cleveland, Inc. “This series animates downtown’s streets, parks, and public spaces all summer long with events and entertainment that capture Cleveland’s distinctive spirit. It’s the perfect time to explore and discover everything the core has to offer.”


Food Truck Series

Now through September 30, residents and visitors can enjoy the daily Food Truck Series, operating from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at different downtown locations:

  • Memorial Monday: Fort Huntington Park (W. 3rd & Lakeside), sponsored by The Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.

  • Food Truck Tuesday: Key Tower Plaza (Rockwell & W. Mall Dr.) from May to July, and Public Square from August to September.

  • Walnut Wednesday: Ralph J. Perk Plaza (E. 12th & Chester Ave.), sponsored by Flagstar.

  • Truck Stop Thursday: One Cleveland Center Plaza (E. 9th St. & St. Clair Ave.).

  • Free Stamp Friday: Willard Park (E. 9th St. & Lakeside Ave.).


Summer Music Series

From June 4 to September 26, the Summer Music Series will feature live music at various downtown spots:

  • Pop-Ups at US Bank Plaza: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (no events on June 20, July 4, 23, or 25).

  • Symphony at Sunset: Sundays from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Superior Hill Park (June 23, 30; July 7, 14, 21; August 4, 11, 18) and Worthington Yards Courtyard (July 28; August 25).

  • Gigs on the Green: Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Public Square from August 7 to September 11.


Recreation Series

The Recreation Series, running from June through September, offers fitness activities for all ages:

  • North Coast Namaste: Yoga sessions at Voinovich Park on Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (June through August).

  • Harbor Hustlers Running Club: Thursday evening runs from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., starting and ending at Voinovich Park.

  • Lakefront Leagues Volleyball: Co-ed volleyball teams compete at North Coast Harbor on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with the second session running from July to September.


Holiday Celebrations

Join the special events celebrating key holidays:

  • MetroHealth Cleveland Juneteenth Freedom Fest (June 15): From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Mall C, this event marks the commemoration of the end of slavery with live music, vendors, and food trucks.

  • Light Up the Lake (July 4): Enjoy the Independence Day fireworks over Lake Erie, starting at dusk, approximately 10 p.m.
