CLEVELAND, OH — Nationally recognized illusionists Jason and Stacy Alan stunned audiences and local media alike this week during their latest show, In Cahoots, held at The Alex Theater at The 9 in downtown Cleveland. Known professionally as The Alans, the married duo from Ohio bring over 20 years of combined experience in magic and mentalism, and have previously appeared on the acclaimed television series Penn & Teller: Fool Us.
During a behind-the-scenes look with Cleveland 13 News, the couple performed private, unrehearsed tricks for reporter Gremi during a taping of the network’s Cleve-It To Us segment. “They truly blew my mind with no explanation,” Gremi said. “They’re the real deal, so I wanted to include the entire filmed segment in the news story to show just how magical and transparent this was. It was amazing.”
The show In Cahoots blends modern magic, psychology, and humor in a high-energy experience where Jason’s sleight of hand meets Stacy’s mind-reading capabilities. Described as “electrifying” and “spellbinding,” the performance showcases the duo’s chemistry on and off stage, with audience interaction playing a key role in every show.
Stacy Alan, originally from Escanaba, Michigan, holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from The University of Akron and previously worked as a therapist, including at Akron Children’s Hospital. “I use psychology, intuition, and showmanship to create unforgettable experiences,” Stacy said, reflecting on her transition from healthcare to entertainment.
Jason Alan, a graduate of Youngstown State University and former collegiate decathlete, began performing professionally while still in college. His career includes appearances on cruise ships and in corporate settings, praised for his engaging style and polished presentation.
Their act has earned praise from organizations such as Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana, with one representative, Emily Yoder, stating, “The Alans are the best! Kind, thoughtful, and of course, perfect at what they do! BOOK THEM!”
The duo just resecured an entire new season at the Met 9 and their next performance at The Alex Theater is scheduled for May 31, with tickets available at www.theclevelandmagicshow.com. The duo can also be followed on Facebook and Instagram for updates and appearances.
