Mentor Police Gear Up for Tenth Annual Fill-a-Cruiser Food Drive
MENTOR, OHIO – The Mentor Police Department is all set to host their landmark tenth annual Fill-a-Cruiser Food Drive on Sunday, November 12, 2023. The event will take place from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Giant Eagle supermarket, located at 8383 Tyler Boulevard.
This event has become an integral part of the city's culture, a testament to the dedication of Mentor's law enforcement to uplift the lives of those in need. This drive aims to collect non-perishable food items and cash donations, ensuring that they reach the food pantries that benefit local families in Mentor.
Over the course of the past nine years, this initiative has seen Mentor police officers go above and beyond, filling no less than 22 police vehicles with food donations. Their selflessness and commitment have also resonated financially, with close to $17,000 in cash donations collected. These funds have been a vital resource in aiding the less fortunate members of the community.
The success of the Fill-a-Cruiser Food Drive is a testament to the bond that exists between Mentor PD and the community they serve. The support of local residents, businesses, and organizations has been instrumental in ensuring that the event reaches new heights of impact every year.
With the holiday season just around the corner, this annual event couldn't come at a more crucial time. It not only fills the stomachs of those in need but also warms their hearts with the knowledge that they are not alone in their struggles.
The Mentor Police Department extends its gratitude to the community for their unwavering and continued support over the years and reminds us all to mark our calendars for Sunday, November 12, and head to the Giant Eagle supermarket on Tyler Boulevard to contribute to this incredible cause.
