Tower City Brings Sleigh Rides, Snow Shows, and Festive Fun to Downtown Cleveland
Updated: Dec 17, 2024
CLEVELAND, OH — Tower City Center in downtown Cleveland is embracing the holiday season with a mix of new and returning attractions designed to delight visitors of all ages. Building on the success of WinterLand, which drew nearly 38,000 attendees, the center is hosting a series of interactive experiences and events every weekend in December.
Among the highlights is the introduction of the “Story” Slide, an 8-foot spiral slide inspired by Cleveland’s connection to A Christmas Story. The vibrant slide, located near The Eatery in Skylight Concourse, is open during regular Tower City hours. Complementing this is the debut of Virtual Reality (VR) Sleigh Rides in Station Court, allowing visitors to embark on an immersive holiday flight across the globe.
For adults, the Jingle & Mingle Bar on Level 2 features an extensive menu of craft cocktails and boozy milkshakes, available Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 11:55 p.m.
Returning favorites include Bruce the Spruce’s Forest, a Cleveland tradition since the 1960s. Visitors can interact with the talking tree and create ornaments in the whimsical holiday grove. Other beloved attractions include Mr. Jingeling’s Treasure House of Toys, the Sock Skating indoor rink, and the enchanting Snow Shows in Skylight Park featuring falling snow and festive lighting effects.
Tower City’s events calendar is packed with themed experiences for families. Highlights include:
Gifting with the Grinchy (Dec. 7): A shopping day for kids, complete with Grinch-themed games and activities.
Donte’s Gift Express (Dec. 14): The 11th annual gift-wrapping and giveaway event, with entertainment like face painters and balloon twisters.
Frozen Fun (Dec. 21): A Snow Sisters Tea Party, Olaf’s Play Place, and frosty-themed activities such as a snowball fight and ice carving.
